Are you a budding journalist or social media expert? JQ is offering paid internships in both fields, to start immediately.  If you are interested,  please send a CV and a covering letter to editorial@jewishquarterly.org, demonstrating:

  1. Relevant skills (writing, interviewing, editing – if applying for journalist internship; social media and graphic design skills, plus experience in relevant software – for social media internship)
  2. Examples of relevant work
  3. A statement of what is best about JQ and what you would do to make it better
  4. Interest and connection to Jewish culture, in UK, Europe and US


Working remotely, with regular meetings with the editor, you will be required to:

Journalism Intern:

  1. Write blog items on relevant/ timely stories; delivered in a speedy manner. Initiate own story ideas as well as respond to ideas suggested by editor
  2. Edit magazine features for online use
  3. Proof-read all new copy – for print and online
  4. Research new stories and set up/ conduct interviews with relevant parties.
  5. Source images to accompany stories

Social Media/ Interactive Intern:

  1. Connect with new and affiliated groups on Facebook/ Twitter etc
  2. Identify new and younger audience in the UK and internationally, and create online strategy to grow it
  3. Update JQ website regularly, with materials provided by editor and journalists
  4. Write/ distribute weekly e-letter
  5. Post on all JQ social media channels regularly, and relevant channels of related groups; both promoting JQ content and joining in relevant conversations
